Two women in Yahukimo Regency were raped and persecuted by members of the Yahukimo KST group causing one of them died, this incident happend on Thursday 12 October 2023 at 11:00 WIT and 12:40 WIT. Thursday, (19/10).

It is known that these two women come from different tribes, one of them from the Ngalik tribe and the other one from Yali tribe, each woman named IS (29) suffered severe injuries to her body and AK (25) was found lifeless.
Head of Papua Police Public Relations, Kombes Pol Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo stated that the two victims were victims of an incident that occurred in the Kampung Baru Kebun area of Ujung Statistics, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.
"This serious persecution has been investigated by Yahukimo Police. From the information received, it was stated that in the first incident, a man allegedly came to the victim to have sex but was refused. As a result of this refusal, the perpetrator maltreated the victim." Said Kombes Pol Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo.
He continued that after carrying out the rape, the perpetrator also stabbed the victim's genitals and tragically the perpetrator carried out the action in front of the child of one of the victims so that people, especially women, were afraid to carry out activities or work near the forest.
Benny revealed that the two victims have been taken to Dekai Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
"The police are committed to uncovering the motives and identities of the perpetrators of the two cases until they are revealed in order to carry out the legal process in according with their actions." Said Benny.
